PATIALA: State Bank of Patiala (SBOP) organised second round of the conclave in association with Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). During the 2-day conclave various inputs on the best practices of RUDSETI, motivation, methodology of conducting Entrepreneurship/Motivational camps, identification of training needs were given to the participants by the officials from the Monitoring Cell for Rural Self employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) and National Academy of RUDSETI and explained the participants about the expectations of the Ministry in taking RSETI movement to greater heights.
More importantly the performance of individual RSETIs was reviewed by the Chief Project Co-ordinator of Monitoring Cell, Bangalore in presence of Bank's executives. The participants were made aware that the setting up of the RSETIs happens to be excellent initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India with the objective of creating bank-led training institutes to provide skills to the unemployed rural youth coupled with a social cause of retaining rural youth with gainful employment and to prevent their migration to the urban areas.
RSETIs are providing skill based training to rural youth free of cost, like motor rewinding, repair of two wheelers, repair of air conditioners, air coolers, photography & videography, Beauty Parlours, Colour TV repairs etc. Bank is successfully, running 8 RSETIs at Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Barnala, Muktsar, Sangrur, Bathinda, Mansa (all the '7' in Lead Districts) in the State of Punjab & one at Fatehabad (Non Lead Distt.) in the State of Haryana. Each RSETI is headed by a Director.
